Freight traffic at the Port of Singapore in January 2018, increased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2016 to 52.65 million tonnes, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore provisional figures show.
Oil products volume fell 6.9% to 19.22 million tonnes and non-oil bulk cargo volume declined by 14.9% to 1.34 million tonnes.
Container traffic grew by 14% to 2.99 million TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at the Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 626.17 million tonnes.
