Container throughput of port Hong Kong (China) up 9.2% to 1.81 million TEUs in January 2018

In January 2018, port Hong Kong (China) handled 1.81 million TEUs (+9.2%, year-on-year).

According to the port authority, the port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing handled 1.41 million TEUs (+5.9%), other terminals handled 400,000 TEUs (+22.9%).

Port Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. It is capable of handling 456,000 vessels per year. In 2017, the port’s container throughput hit 20.75 million TEUs.
