Employees of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg take part in traditional environmental campaign

On 26 October 2018, employees of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding) held a traditional environmental campaign “Clean Island” to clear the beach of the Kanonersky island.

The activity was held with the support of municipal entity “Sea Gate” as part of the autumn month’s land improvement campaign.

SP SPb employees cleaned the Putilovskaya embankment having collected rubbish, plastic and glass. Leaves and branches were partially removed from the embankment where they hindered locals walking along the beach.

Environment protection is among priority activities of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC. To ensure high environmental standards and preserve favorable environment the company performs permanent monitoring of coastal zone management and waste/natural waters quality. In the first half of 2018, SP SPb spent RUB 16.1 million for environment protection activities.

Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (a company of UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International Transportation Group UCL Holding) is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes at Big Port St. Petersburg. It operates modern multipurpose specialized terminals for handling of general and bulk cargoes and specialized terminals for ro-ro cargoes and containers. In 2017, the company handled 6.9 million tonnes of cargo.
