Severnaya Verf shipyard says the first serial frigate of Project 22350, Fleet Admiral Kasatonov, has left for the first phase of sea trials that will last thill the New Year.
The vessel is to be delivered to RF Navy till the end of 2019.
Multipurpose frigates of Project 22350 developed by Severnoye Design Bureau are large seagoing warships capable to accomplish a wide range of tasks. The ships have extended forecastle deck design, with innovative solid superstructure made of composite materials (polyvinyl chloride and carbon fibers) with radar-absorbing capabilities to reduce or block radar signals that reflect off from the surface of planes.
Design displacement is 5,000 tons; length is 135 meters; beam is 16 meters; max speed 29 knots, range – 4,500 miles, endurance – 30 days, crew - 170. Ships of the project are armed with a 130-mm gun mount A-192, missile system with Onyx and Caliber missiles capable to hit sea and coastal targets, Poliment-Redut SAM system.

The shipyard specializes in building cruisers, destroyers, minesweepers, patrol vessels and submarines destroyers, research and passenger vessels, timber cargo carriers, trawlers, container ships and ro-ro vessels for the Russian Defense Ministry and foreign customers.
