Icebreakers of FSUE Rosmorport assisted almost 7,000 ships in navigation season 2018-2019
From the beginning of the navigation season of 2018-2019 (as of April 15), icebreakers of FSUE Rosmorport have assisted almost 7,000 ships in freezing ports of Russia, says FSUE Rosmorport.
As for the Arctic Basin, icebreaking assistance in the White Sea was provided by the Kapitan Yevdokimov, Kapitan Kosolapov, Kapitan Chadayev, Kapitan Dranitsin and Dikson icebreakers. 394 vessels have been escorted from the beginning of the winter navigation season. In the water area of port Sabetta, icebreaking assistance is being provided by the Moskva icebreaker. The number of vessels escorted – 131.
1,983 vessels have been escorted by icebreakers in the Gulf of Finland (Baltic Sea).
In the Tatar Strait and at the port of Magadan and Vanino of the Far East Basin, icebreaking services are being provided by the Magadan and Novorossiysk icebreakers, 315 vessels have been escorted so far.
The season of icebreaker assistance is over in the Azov and in the Caspian Sea 3,856 vessels were escorted there during the season.
Rosmorport’s fleet of diesel fueled icebreakers numbers 35 ships of different capacity.
