In January-May 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 532.1 million tonnes of cargo, down 0.7%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 159.2 million tonnes (+0.8% year-on-year); coke – 4.6 million tonnes (+2.2%); crude oil and oil products – 97.1 million tonnes (-1.7%); iron and manganese ore – 49.6 million tonnes (+6%); ferrous metal – 32.2 million tonnes (-2.5%); ferrous metal scrap – 5.6 million tonnes (+4.7%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 25.4 million tonnes (+0.7%); cement – 9.6 million tonnes (+5%); timber – 18.7 million tonnes (-4.6%); grain – 8.4 million tonnes (-32%); construction cargo – 49 million tonnes (-5.6%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 8.1 million tonnes (-2.1%); chemicals and soda – 11.1 million tonnes (-2.9%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 14 million tonnes (-3.1%).
From the beginning of 2019, freight turnover totaled 1,101 billion tariff ton-km (+2.7%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 1,402.2 billion ton-km (+2.7%).
In May 2019, loading totaled 106.3 million tonnes (-3.8%).
In May 2019, Russian Railways carried 224.4 billion tariff ton-km (+2.3%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run grew by 2.3% to 284.8 billion ton-km.
