Daewoo shipyard delivers third of 12 newbuilds to MSC

MSC's latest container ship has been named the "MSC Carouge" at the Daewoo-Mangalia Heavy Industries shipyard.
The 4,860-TEU newbuild was ordered three years ago by Gebab, care of Buxtehude-based NSB. The MSC Carouge is the third vessel in a series of 12, and has been chartered to MSC.
The first two vessels in this series, the MSC Geneva and the MSC Leigh, were delivered last year. The ships are described as being the biggest container ships currently operating in the Black Sea region and Romania, a statement from Daewoo-Mangalia said.
The container ship has a speed of 24 knots, measures 275 metres in length, 32 metres in width and has a draught of 21.5 metres.
