Far East Railway Q1 loading totals 12.46 million tons
In quarter I of 2007, loading of Far East Railway amounted to 12.461 million tons (102.9% against plan and 104% against year-on-year result), FER’s PR service reports. Loading of coal totaled over 4.6 million tons, oil products – 2.4 million tons, timber – 2.47 million tons and imported cargo - 856 thou tons. Loading of ferrous metal amounted to 223 thou tons (120.4% against plan), cement - 148 thou tons (115.7% against plan) and ferrous metal scrap – 60.7 thou tons (138.3% against plan). Average daily unloading totaled 3965 wagons (99.6% against plan). The results are attributed to bad weather, especially in March.
