The Qatar National Navigation & Transport QSC, a marine freight transportation and industrial investment company, will pay Daesun Ship-building & Engineering Co QR87mn ($24mn) for a new container ship.
Qatar Navigation’s board decided to buy the ship on Sunday, the company said in a filing to the Doha Securities Market yesterday.
The new vessel will be able to ship 1,000, standard 20ft containers, according to the filing. It is the fourth vessel of this size Qatar Navigation has ordered from South Korea-based Daesun since December.
