On March 31, 2007, the Municipal Government of Fujian Province and COSCO Group signed a strategic partnership framework agreement in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Mr. Huang Xiaojing, Governor of Fujian Province and Capt. Wei Jiafu, President and CEO of COSCO Group signed the agreement on behalf of each party and delivered remarks on the signing ceremony respectively. Officials from Fujian province including Vice Governor Wang Meixiang, Ye Shuangyu, Li Chuan, Su Zengtian and top management of COSCO Group including Executive Vice President Zhang Fusheng, Xu Lirong, Zhang Liang and Li Yunpeng also attended the ceremony.
The establishment of the relationship between Fujian Province and COSCO Group will help promote business opportunities in a variety of sectors including terminal operation, logistics business, shipping, shipbuilding and ship-repairing services in Fujian. On the basis of win-win situation and mutual benefit, the both parties will endeavor to explore cooperation on a wider range and stipulate specific measures to implement related projects.
