Throughput of Leningrad region stevedores up 29.8% in Jan. – Feb. 07, y-o-y

In January-February, 2007, stevedoring companies of the Leningrad region operating within the harbor waters of the Gulf of Finland increased their throughput 29.8%, year-on-year, to 15.2 million tons, press center of the regional committee of economic development. The share of export totaled 99.7%, import – 0.2%. in January-February SMNP Promorsk LLC and Primorsk Commercial Port LLC exported 12.1 million tons of oil (123.5% against January-February 2006) and handled 121 (123.5%). Vysotsk Port handled 2218.1 thou tons of cargo (126.1% against January-February 2006), 99.9% of the volume is export cargo.

Oil terminal DTC "LUKOIL-II" (Vysotsk) dispatched 1.5851 million tons of oil products (+38.4%), coal terminal Port Vysotski LLC - 633 thou tons of coal (+3.1%). In January-February 2007, throughput of the port of Vyborg totaled 140.7 thou tons (+23.7% against January-February 2006). Export makes 74.6%. The volume was mainly formed by chemical cargo – 56 thou tons (2.7-fold growth) and timber – 31.7 thou tons (-23.8%).

Port of Ust-Luga increased its throughput 8.1 times to 802.1 thou tons. The port’s terminal owned by Rosterminalugol shipped 792.9 thou tons of coal (9.2-fold growth).
