MacGREGOR received ship crane orders from China to both bulkers and general cargo ships. The cranes ordered to bulkers will be delivered to Weihai Ship Yards and Sinopacific Yards during 2008–2009. The ship cranes will be manufactured in China by MacGREGOR’s partner plants. The ship cranes for general cargo ships will be delivered for two ships of Hanjin Heavy Industries in Korea, two ships of Zhejiang Hongguan Shipbuilding in China and four ships of Kouan Shipyard in China.
Ship crane orders for container ships were received from Poland and China. The ship cranes for altogether 12 container ships will be delivered during 2008–2010.
MacGREGOR strengthened its position in the transloading segment. Emirates Trading Agency based in Dubai ordered four heavy duty grab cranes on board each of two panamax transloading stations. The stations will primarily handle iron ore. The complete installation can handle approximately 2,500 tonnes of iron ore per hour.
MacGREGOR further stregthened its market position also in cranes for tankers. A total of 156 MacGREGOR service and hose-handling cranes will be delivered for tankers being built in ship yards in China, Korea, Croatia and Romania. The ship cranes will be manufactured by MacGREGOR’s partner plants in China, Korea and Croatia.
