In January-March 2007, throughput of the port of Temryuk totaled 246.63 thou tons (+17.46%), PortNews IAA learnt from Taman branch of Rosmorport FSUE. Over the reported period export amounted to 229.88 thou tons (+14.33%, year-on-year). Export included 82.098 thou tons of sawn timber, 7.89 thou tons of round timber, 48.528 thou tons of chemical cargo. In January-March the port handled 1.040 thou tons of grain cargo, 41.08 thou tons of metal scrap. Transshipment of fertilizers totaled 9.569 thou tons, non-ferrous metal – 39.643 thou tons, general cargo – 16.772 thou tons. Import totaled 16.75 thou tons (1.9-fold growth, year-on-year). Within the three months of 2007 the port handled 129 vessels (+37.2%, year-on-year).
Temryuk Commercial Seaport is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1200 running meters. Major type of cargo handled at the port is the general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and foodstuffs. Dredging works carried out from 1996, has almost finalized for the moment being at the approach canal, and the port is able to accept river-and-sea-going vessels with up to 5,000 tons of displacement.
