Cooperation of Byelorussian and Lithuanian railways

The railways of Lithuania and Byelorussia will do their best to increase the cargo flow via the port of Klaipeda, RZD-Partner reports. They hope that Russian railways will support them, since it is interested in transit flow from Kazakhstan.

Lietuvos gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian railway) and Byelorussian Railway agreed to prolong their Agreement on Cooperation, reports Lietuvos zinios.

The Head of Byelorussian railway Vladimir Zherelo informed that the producers of potash fertilizers gave an application for transportation of 2.6 mln tons of cargoes via Klaipeda.

Due to the instable economic relations with Russia, the Republic of Belarus has an alternative way to provide its refineries with crude oil – delivery of oil via the port of Klaipeda.
