In January-March 2007 transshipment of oil cargo in the port of Vitino (Arkhangelsk region) totaled 733 thou tons, PortNews IAA learnt from Arkhangelsk Seaport Administration. In March the port handled 245.9 thou tons of oil products.
Vitino is a private port in the Arkhangelsk region. It was set up within the framework of a project on construction of a new port terminal complex for handling large-capacity tankers on the basis of facilities of the Belomorskaya oil tank farm (at the South-West shore of Kandalaksha Bay of the While Sea) being financed from off-budget sources. The port specializes on transshipment of oil products, including heavy fuel oil (May-October) and gas condensate. Vitino is linked with a central part of Russia, as well as with Black, Caspian, Azov and Baltic Seas and inland waterways.
