USL appoints TraPac Oakland terminal operator
US Lines has appointed TraPac as its Oakland terminal operator, calling at berth 30 in the Port of Oakland.
In February, USL announced that it would introduce a direct weekly call at Oakland on its Australia/New Zealand and Transpacific services, expanding its coverage up the California coast.
Vessels will arrive in Oakland from Australasia, Hong Kong and South China every Monday, departing on Tuesday for Los Angeles before proceeding southbound for Tauranga, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
This schedule will shift the Los Angeles departure from Thursday to Friday, offering exporters late-week cut-offs. Transit times throughout the network will remain the same.
When USL launched its ANZL service in July 2006, the schedule was designed with adequate buffer time available to absorb unexpected delays to ensure consistent on-time performance. Now that the schedule has proven its reliability, USL believes the time is right to add a direct vessel call in Oakland.
“TraPac has delivered outstanding service to USL and our valued customers in the Port of Los Angeles, and we firmly believe this standard of excellence will be delivered to our shippers in the Oakland gateway as well,” said Ed Aldridge, USL’s president & CEO.
