In January-March 2007, Ventspils nafta terminals (VNT, subsidiary of Ventspils nafta) handled 3.3 million tons of oil products (2-folld growth, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. Over the reported period VNT handled 2.3 million tons of diesel fuel, 0.5 million tons of motor car petrol and 0.4 million tons of oil and oil products delivered by sea. In March transshipment of oil products amounted to 1.4 million tons including 0.9 million tons of diesel fuel, 0.2 million tons of petrol and 0.2 million tons of oil and oil products. As of today, oil and oil products are delivered to the terminal by railway, sea and pipelines for diesel fuel. In 2007 VNT started accepting diesel fuel delivered by pipeline. Besides, VNT’s results should be attributed to successful cooperation with Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited.
Throughput of Ventspils nafta terminals doubles in Q1 07, y-o-y
VNT was set up in 2003. The company’s owners are Vitol and VN holding. The largest shareholders of VN - Latvijas Naftas tranzits and Vitol Group. In 2006 VNT handled 5.7 million tons of oil and oil products (-29.6%, year-on-year).
