MSC reverts to Busan as hub at expense of Ningbo

The Busan Port Authority (BPA) said today that MSC changed its transshipment center from Ningbo to Busan. MSC had left Busan for Ningbo in 2005. MSC will now handle its ships at the Gamman Terminal operated by Korea Express. BPA adds that MSC's return to Busan results from high productivity and other advantages. BPA expects that MSC will bring more than 400,000 teu of transhipment cargo annually to Busan. Ports such as Dalian or Xingang were feederised via Ningbo.
