Logistics expenditure expected to rise 11pc in China
China's spending on logistics will rise by 11 per cent during 2007 to more than CNY4.23 trillion (US$546 billion) according to government forecasts, reports Xinhua.
Chinese government 2006 statistics show the national expenditure on logistics grew by 13.5 per cent year on year to CNY3.8 trillion. The government expects the spending growth to fall 2.5 per cent this year.
In 2006, expenditure on transport went up 12.8 per cent to CNY2.1 trillion and money spent on warehousing rose 16 per cent to CYN1.2 million.
China have worked out a development plan that will lay down 300 guidelines and rules for the logistics industry to bring about greater standardisation.
