Newly established Floatel International, headed by former Consafe boss Peter Jacobsson, has ordered an accommodation rig from Keppel FELS in Singapore for delivery in 2010. The semi-submersible rig will be built to DP3 standard and with capacity for 440 persons. The order is worth USD 305 million and the deal is subject conditions to be lifted in the near future. Behind the new company is also Bassøe Offshore. The management team is based in Göteborg, the company is registered in Bermuda and the intention is in a later stage to list the company on the Oslo Exchange.
