Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline to be open to exporters
The management of Gazprom Neft, one of Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline project participants, believes that the pipeline will be equally open to oil exporters, and no quotas are planned to be imposed, the company's official Nikolai Seryogin told journalists today. He pointed out that Gazprom Neft would act in accordance with the EU legislation, as the pipeline is located on its territory. He added that stretches of the pipeline would be distributed proportionally on the basis of applications.
Seryogin also said that Gazprom Neft was hoping that Transneft would be the project operator. He thinks that the existence of this alternative pipeline will allow exporters to save around $700m-$750m annually.
