Port of Rotterdam and ECT build a EUR 145 million container terminal
The port of Rotterdam and terminal operator ECT build a terminal for servicing feeder and internal container lines at industrial area Maasvalakte close to Rotterdam, the port’s press center reports according to RZD-Partner. Construction of a 800-meter long quay wall has been almost finalized. ECT plans to receive first cranes in March 2008, the terminal will start operation two month later. At the first stage the terminal’s capacity will total 300 thou TEU, which makes one third of the designed capacity. The project is said to be costing €145 million.
