In 2006, Belarus upped transshipment of export cargo via the ports of Kaliningrad region by 34.9%, year-on-year, to 45.8 thou tons, Interfax learnt from Bronislav Govorovski, head of Water Transport Department of Byelorussian Ministry of Transport and Communications.
According to Govorovski, the issue of participation of Byelorussin exporters in construction of their own infrastructure in the port of Kaliningrad may be solved through execution of feasibility study of investments into Kaliningrad region transport complex development.
