In May-October navigation period, river shipping company Vision Fleet plans to transport to the port of St. Petersburg about 1 million tons of export dark oil products, the company’s press center reports. Oil products from Samara and Nizhnekamsk refineries will be delivered by river-going 5,000-dwt vessels to the off-harbor transshipment complex of the port of St. Petersburg (Kronshtadt) for accumulation of large export volumes. “If the weather and navigation is successful enough we will be able increase planned volumes of transportation,” Peotr Razumov, Director General of Vision Fleet remarks. The first tanker will be loaded in Samara on April 26. Loading at Nizhnekamsk refinery of TAIF group will start on April 27. For the coming navigation Samara and Nizhnekamsk are to be major point of loading for Vision Fleet.
When preparing for navigation 2007 Vision Fleet LLC invested $8 million into repair and modernization of its fleet (+30% compared to investments of the previous year).
The company will deploy about 30 tankers at Volga-Baltic waterway. 5 vessels are to operate at southern directions. They are to transport oil products between the ports of the Caspian, Black and Azov Seas.
Technical state of the navigation way was considerably improved in 2007.
