Russia raised crude steel output 7.3% year-on-year to 18.239 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2007, the Federal State Statistics Service said according to Interfax.
Converter steel output rose 1.7% to 10.475 million tonnes in the quarter and electric steel output grew 30.1% to 4.514 million tonnes.
Russian producers increased pig iron production 0.8% to 12.928 million tonnes in the period.
