OAO North-Western Shipping Company increased transportation by 10% year-on-year to 1.033 mln tons in January- March 2007, Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner according to Interfax.
100 freight vessels of the Shipping company will operate during summer navigation of 2007. In particular, 33 vessels, including 14 vessels which provide international trips, were put into operation. The shipping company will carry logs and proceeded timber from Leningrad region to Scandinavian ports, it will transport road metal from Volgo-Balt to Saint-Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulianovsk and Toliatti; meal will be shipped from Cherepovetz to Riga and Tallinn. It is also possible that fertilizers will be carried from Kama to Baltic Countries. North Western Shipping Company Owns 200 vessels.
