Zim decided to exercise option for 10,000-TEU containerships

The decision followed the board's approval early this year of the US$266.4 million purchase for two 10,000-TEU container ships and an options to buy a third mega vessel
following the announcement in late February 2007 that Israeli shipping line, Zim Integrated Shipping Services, ordered two more super jumbo 10,000-TEU container ships from South Korea's Hyundai Shipyards shortly the company confirmed that it decided to exercise the option to buy a third mega vessel.
The vessels would be ready for delivery in early 2010.

The company announced last year that it was planning to buy eight new container vessels for a total of investment of $1 billion from the South Korean shipbuilder, which would raise the carrying capacity of Zim's box fleet by 30%.
