Throughput of the port of Klaipeda (Lithuania) up 12.6% in Q1 07, y-o-y

In January-March 2007, the port of Klaipeda (Lithuania) handled 6.32 million tons of cargo (+12.6%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. The highest results were demonstrated in the sector of liquid bulk cargo (18.6%) and general cargo (+28.5%). The share of transit cargo delivered by railway grew by 56%. Delivery of railway wagons by ferries grew by 19.5%, containers – by 32.8 %, vehicles – by 20.7%. Passenger transportation grew by 25.2%.
