Clipper signs up for more bulk carriers from China
Clipper Group has exercised further options on bulkcarrier from the Chinese shipbuilding group Tsuji Heavy Industry situated on the Yangste River. To the fairly large portfolio have been added another 10 units of the Trader-type, a bulkcarrier of 30,800 DWT. The latest addition to the huge orderbook within Clipper (goes up to nearly 40 units of the Trader type) will be delivered in 2011 and 2012. The price is reported to around USD 26 million per units. In the segment of bulkcarriers the existing fleet is rather old as 58 per cent of the fleet is more than 20 years old. Clipper’s commercial department is situated in Harbour House in Copenhagen, while the main office is in Nassau, Bahamas.
