New container line to link Vladivostok and S. Korea

New container line Korea Russian Container Express Service linking S. Korea and the port of Vladivostok started operation at Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT LLC), the company’s press release reads. The line is managed by operators of S. Korean companies CKL, KMTC and PCL on parity terms.  On April 25, the first vessels of the new line – Еagle Sky – moored at the terminal. The vessel’s capacity is 653 TEU.  The vessels are to call every week. In future, the service is to be extended through introduction of another call.    

It is the seventh container line of VCT.  Besides Korea Russian Container Express Service, the following lines operate at VCT: Dongnama Shipping, Magistral Containers Lines, Korea Soviet Direct Line, FESCO China Direct Line, Fesco Vietnam Direct Line, as well as coast trade cargo line of FESCO - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski Line.

The terminal forecasts increase of container turnover to 170,000 TEU in 2007.  

 

Vladivostok Container Terminal LLC (VCT) is a container terminal operating at the territory of Vladivostok port. The terminal is co-managed by Vladivostok Commercial Seaport and Severstaltrans Group of Companies.
