Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard launches fourth dry-cargo ship project RSD 17 for Palmali Group
Today, Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (MNP Group) has launched the fourth dry-cargo ship project RSD 17 (Riad Akhmedov) for Palmali Group, press release of MNP reads. The contract implies construction of five dry-cargo ships. The lead ship - "Mirzaga Khalilov" – was handed over to the customer in November, 2006, the second vessel - "Ismayl Shikhly" – was launched at the end of December, 2006, the third dry-cargo ship “Shirvan” - was launched in February, 2007.
Dry-cargo ship project RSD17 DWT 6,270 mt of the restricted navigation area is designed for transportation of all types of general cargoes, including 20-ft and 40-ft international standard containers, metal, grain, lumber, coal, bulky and heavy cargoes. Maximum length of the vessel is 121.7 m, breadth – 16.7 m, depth – 6.20 m, draught – 5.06 m. Total capacity of three cargo tanks is 9,370 cubic m, capacity of ballast tanks Is 3,120 cubic m, number of containers – 234 pcs. Sea endurance of the vessel is 20/25 days, speed – 11.5 knots, crew – 12/14 persons.
The lead dry-cargo ship project RSD17 “Mirzaga Khalilov” was certified by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) for conformance to ECO standard. These requirements have been introduced by RMRS in 2006. The ECO symbol in the class symbol indicates the higher environmental safety standard. RSD17 is the first vessel with the ECO symbol, built in Russia. To receive the symbol the vessel should conform to the strict criteria for the aquatic environment and environmental emissions as well as for power consumption.
