Admiralty Shipyards launch the Tverskoi Most tanker built for Sovcomflot

Admiralty Shipyards has launched the Tverskoi Most tanker built for Sovcomflot, RBC reports. The tanker’s length is 182.5 meters, breadth – 32.5 meters, depth – 17.5 meters, deadweight – 47,400 tons. The tanker is designed to sail in ice-free waters. The ceremony was attended by Director General of Admiralty Shipyards FSUE, Sovcomflot management, representatives of St. Petersburg administration.

Admiralty Shipyards FSUE is the oldest Russia’s shipyard founded by Peter I on November 5, 1704. Modern Shipyards specialize in design, production and modernization of civil and naval vessels of various types.

JSC Sovcomflot is the largest Russian shipping company, owning the fleet of 56 vessels with total deadweight of 4.36 million tons. In 2006, the company’s IFRS net profit grew by 25%, year-on-year, to $179.1 million. EBITDA totaled $283 million (+15%, year-on-year), revenues from fleet operation amounted to $510 million (+24%). The fleet’s tonnage grew by 11.5% - to 4.4 million dwt. The company specializes in energy shipping.
