Throughput of Murmansk Commercial Seaport down 9% in May 07

In May 2007, Commercial Seaport of Murmansk handled 1,199.157 thou tons of different cargo (-9%, year-on-year), the company states. In the reported period the company handled 46 vessels and 17,121 wagons including 13,436 wagons with coal.  Transshipment of export cargo decreased by 9% to 1,168.395 thou tons including 958.6 thou tons of coal, 171.3 thou tons of apatite, 26.8 thou tons of non-ferrous metal.  Transshipment of general cargo amounted to 62.8 thou tons (86.4% against similar period of the previous year), bulk cargo – 1,136.3 thou tons (-9.2%, year-on-year). In January-May the port transshipped 5,494.84 thou tons of different cargo, handled 82,732 wagons and 214 vessels.
