Ukraine cuts oil purchases from Russia

Ukraine's refineries decreased purchases of Russian oil by 7.1 percent to 4.513m tonnes in January-May 2007, the press office of the Ukrainian government told RBC Ukraine, RBC reports. Meanwhile, purchases of the republic's oil edged up 3.5 percent to 5.696m in the first five months of 2007.

Ukrainian refineries bought 925,000 tonnes of crude oil in May 2007 (down 13.1 percent against May 2006). Oil refining went down 5.1 percent to 5.634m tonnes in January-May 2007, while gasoline production climbed 7.6 percent to 1.605m tonnes.
