Throughput of Vladivostok Container Terminal up 19% in Jan-May, 07, y-o-y

In January-May 2007, Vladivostok Container Terminal  handled 69,976 TEU (+19%, or +58 812 TEU, year-on-year), the company’s press release states. In May 2007, the terminal handled 17,204 TEU against 12,32 TEU in May 2006 (+40%).In the 5-month period, handling of export containers grew by 31% – from 20,731 TEU to 27,178 TEU. In May 2007, transshipment of export containers made 7,238 TEU against 4,177 TEU in May 2006 (+73%). Handling of import container surged by 30% – from 18,917 TEU in January-May 2006 to 24,652 TEU in the same period of 2007. In May: +59% – to 5,813 TEU from 3,653 TEU in May 2006.Volume of coastal trade container handled by the company totaled 18,146 TEU in January-May 2007 (-5% from 19,164 TEU in January-May 2006). In May 2007: 4,153 TEU (-7% from 4,502 TEU in May 2006).  In January-May 2007, loaded/empty containers ratio made 56.31% against 43.69% respectively.
