Oil export via the port of Primorsk up 18% in Jan-May, 07, y-o-y

In January-May 2007, oil export via Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” OJSC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) totaled 30.706.9  million tonnes (+18%, year-on-year),  St. Petersburg Seaport Administration reports. The port handled 614 vessels. In May, oil export totaled 6.411.8 million tonnes (130 vessels).

Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” OJSC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberia oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. PBS’s annual capacity as of the date of commissioning was 12 million tons. In 2003 PBS’s capacity was increased to 30 million tons of oil per year. Today its capacity is 65 million tons.
