All 19 crew aboard a Panamanian ship which sank in the Arabian Sea overnight in bad weather were rescued by a passing vessel.The chemical transporter, sank between Socotra Island and the south coast of Yemen when it was battered by high waves and winds, the official Yemeni news agency Saba said. An official at the Yemeni maritime authority said that the ship was transporting fertilisers, warning that it could cause harm to the marine life. He said the ship went down in deep water 80km north of Socotra, and Yemeni authorities were seeking more information from the crew. A maritime source in the Yemeni port of Aden told Saba the crew was picked up by a passing Panamanian ship. The transporter had been heading to Europe from an unspecified Asian port when it sank.
