The FESCO transport group chose the "Deloit" company as a consultant on creating and introducing the corporate automated control system on the basis of ERP-system in the transport group, RIA PrimaMedia was informed in the press-service of the company.
To create a highly efficient control system that will in the optimal way allow supervising and coordinating business-processes in various geographical locations, to create precisely working system of administrative information, and to raise the efficiency of decision-making are the priorities of the general strategy of Transport Group. Introducing the complex automated control system will allow the Group to realize the synergetic effects of interacting the assets and businesses included in FESCO as much as possible.
"The introduction of modern information system will support making the operative administrative decisions, and this will improve the interaction between the companies, which carry out shipping operations, and will provide a new level of service and information support to our customers. There have not been such systems either in the FESCO Group or in any other transport-logistic companies in Russia yet, so this June the Board of Directors made the decision to prepare and develop the concept of introduction of a control system on the basis of an ERP-platform," Evgeniy AMBROSOV, the General Director of FESCO open joint stock company, notes.
The "Deloit" has significant consulting experience in transport-logistic activities as well as in ERP-systems; it has already conducted a pre-project inspection, and then will propose also a concrete plan on introducing the ERP-system. The Board of Directors is planning to consider this concept by the end of the year.
The FESCO Transport Group has been formed on the basis of the Far Eastern Shipping Company, which is one of the largest and oldest transport agencies of Russia, it was founded in 1880.
The Group is the largest Russian container operator; in 2006 the total volume of container transportation carried out by all companies that are included into FESCO Group amounted to1,8 million TEU.
