Throughput of Liepaja port down 0.8% in Jan-Nov 07, y-o-y

In January-November 2007, the port of Liepaja handled 3.673 million tonnes of cargo (-0.8%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. Transshipment of loose bulk totaled 1.729 million tonnes (+13.5%) including 1.1 million tonnes of grain and grain goods (+24.4%). In the reported period the port handled 727,800 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-18.3%) including 503,300 tonnes of oil products (-27.4%), 179,400 tonnes of rude oil (-0.1%). Transshipment of general cargo amounted to 1.216 million tonnes (-5.8%) including 590,400 tonnes of ferrous metal and goods made of ferrous metal (-5.5%), 455,000 tonnes of timber (-13.9%). Stevedoring company Liepаjas osta LM handled 1.125 million tonnes of cargo (-3.8%). The second result was demonstrated by TransWide Service - 606,600 tonnes (+29.1%). The third one is DG Terminаls - 329,130 tonnes (+4.1%).
