Egypt's nationalised Suez Canal has recorded a new daily cargo record, which may break a daily revenue record of $14.3mn set in August.The canal, Egypt's third largest contributor to GDP, recorded Seventy-six boats carrying 2.8 million tonnes of cargo last Thursday.The 19th century canal's management said that fares were expected to exceed $13mn and could even break the 14.3mn set on the August 21.Cargo included petroleum products, goods, vehicles and iron ore.
