Dalian Port expects more throughput with new berths
The port of Dalian in Liaoning province expects higher cargo and container throughput in the year 2008. The port expects to have an annual cargo volume range of 175 to 185 million tonnes as well as a year container volume range of 4.5 million TEU to 4.7 million TEU in the year.
Annual cargo volume for 2007 reached 165.44 million tonnes, a 13.9 percent on-year growth and container volume for the review period rose 18.7 percent to 3.81 million TEU. The port anticipates berths no.17 and no.18 at Dayaowan Phase III to commence operation on April 1.
