Russia to lower export oil duty

The export duty on oil will be lowered by $56.9 a tonne to $180.7 a tonne, Alexander Sakovich, the deputy chief of the Russian Finance Ministry's customs payments department, RBC reports. According to him, the average Urals crude oil price amounted to $56.93 a barrel on international exchanges in September-October 2006.

From December 1, the customs duty on light refined products will be scaled down by $38.4 a tonne to $134 a tonne, and the duty on heavy refined products - by $20.7 a tonne to $72.2 a tonne.
