MOL'S new India service

Japanese owner Mitsui OSK lines plans to launch an independent container shuttle service between western India, Malaysia and Singapore later this month.A company statement says: “In addition to the current NSX service, which employs two containerships, the company’s new shuttle will provide the fastest transit time between the western India port of Nhava Sheva, in a suburb of Mumbai, and Port Kelang/Singapore in the Straits of Malacca.”

It adds: “With connections in Singapore to Japan and the strait service (CHS1), this upgrade will also allow MOL to offer the fastest stable service between western India and major ports in Japan. Our company continues to upgrade its services in response to the rising container trade in the Indian market.”The rotation will be: Port Kelang (Thu) — Singapore (Fri/Sat) — Nhava Sheva (Fri/Sat) — Port Kelang (Thu)
