CSAV and CCNI to improve Med Andes service

CSAV and CCNI are to improve their Med-NCSA-WCSA service (Med Andes - 6550). The frequency will be upgraded from one sailing every 14 days to one sailing every 10 days while the fleet will be renewed with six ships of the B-170 type (1,730 teu / 20 knots) replacing the five conbulkers of 35-45,000 tdw / 1,800 teu / 15 knots currently plying the service. As the B-170s, are faster than the conbulkers, transit times will also be improved.

The new pattern will be fully effective in early 2007, with the injection of the B-170s starting in December 2006. The rotation will remain unchanged and will continue to cover Italy, Spain, Puerto Rico, the NCSA (through Cartagena), Peru and Chile.
