DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight arm of DHL, has appointed the managing director of its Singapore operations, Sam Ang, as senior vice president for southeast Asia.Mr Ang will oversee freight management operations, including customer programme management, and is responsible for the development of long-term strategy to expand growth in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. Mr Ang has become a member of the DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific management board and will continue to act as the managing director of the Singapore office.

"Sam is a prime example of this philosophy and we strongly believe that his knowledge and intense passion for the business will propel DHL Global Forwarding to new heights."
Mr Ang is a 25-year veteran of the transport and logistics business, having joined DHL in 1992 as managing director of its Singapore-based freight operations.
