State-owned exploration major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) has become a member of Indian National Shipowners' Association (INSA), said INSA president and Varun Shipping managing director Yudhisthir Khatau.
On the sidelines of a shipping summit here, Khatau said besides ONGC about 10 more companies would be becoming members of INSA, which was cleared at the recent board meeting.
INSA members own 90 per cent of the vessels registered in India. With new members joining, INSA's membership is set to raise to 42.
