Yang Ming Line and K Line are to launch in February 2007 an Asia-Europe loop tailored for the eight VLCS that are in course of introduction on this route (four for each carrier) . Three of them are now delivered, the YM UNITY (August), YM UTMOST (October) and HUMBER BRIDGE (October). They are for the time being assigned to the Asia-Europe AES-1 / CTX loop (run by K Line and Yang Ming with Hanjin-Senator taking slots), which used to be run with eight ships of 5,500 teu (these latter ones are to join the new Asia-Med AM 1 loop. The new loop will serve in Europe Rotterdam, Hamburg and Felixstowe before proceeding directly to Singapore and Shanghai. It will then load at Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Yantian and Singapore before heading directly to Rotterdam.he eight VLCS are expected to be all delivered by March 2007.
