Japanese shipping company MITSUI OSK Lines plans to launch a new Korea-Jakarta Service (KJX) based on a space charter from Seoul-based Heung-A Shipping. MOL says in a statement: “This is part of an MOL initiative to upgrade service in response to rising intra-Asia container trade.”The new service will offer direct connections to ports in Indonesia from South Korea, and improve the competitiveness of services from South Korea to India and Pakistan with links to the MOL network at Singapore.The first sailing will be in early December and the rotation will be: Inchon (Mon/Tue) Pusan (Wed/Thu) Hong Kong (Sun/Sun) Singapore (Thu/Thu) Jakarta (Sat/Sun).
