Northern Railway loads 6.5 million tons of cargo in October 2006

In October 2006, Northern Railway loaded 6.5 million tons of cargo (+0.9% year-on-year), NR’s PR Department reports. The figure includes 1.555 million tons of oil products (100.3% of plan); 1.254 million tons of construction cargo (+11.6% against plan and + 21.4% against result of 2005. In October 2005 NR loaded 1.7 million tons of coal (+27%, year-on-year), 750 thou tons of ferrous metals (+12.4% against plan and +11.3% against last year result. Loading of timber totaled 723 thou tons, chemical fertilizers - 238 thou tons, paper - 157 thou tons, metal scrap - 152 thou tons, chemicals - 80 thou tons, cement - 69 thou tons. Average weight of the train was 3546 tons (+0.1% against 2005).
