APM Terminals and Shanghai's Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) have concluded a purchase agreement for the delivery of rubber-tyre gantry cranes for APM Terminals worldwide.
The signing was held at ZPMC offices in Shanghai, marking a deal that establishes a delivery schedule for the RTGs. APM Terminals has similar agreements with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co Ltd of South Korea, Noell Crane System GmbH of Germany and Kone Cranes of Finland.
Last year APM Terminals and AP Moller-Maersk executives met with ZPMC officials in Shanghai to sign for the purchase of ship-to-shore cranes and other terminal equipment.
APM Terminals has already bought more than 200 cranes from ZPMC, and operates a 12-man Shanghai office that works in close cooperation in the design and construction of container handling gear.
